The Bwindi Batwa forest experience trail is a wonder of its own.Found in the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable NP, it takes you through the the ways of the Batwa in the forest, their survival, culture and heritage but most importantly is a way of conserving the forest while communities earn from it.
The trail which was launched by the Minister for tourism Hon. Ephraim Kamuntu on the 26th April 2019 has two routes, the shorter one which takes approximately 2 and a half hours in the forest and the longer one which is a five hours experience of the Batwa traditional ways of life.
Along the trail, the visitor is taken through how the BATWA lived, survived and behave when they still occupied the forest, their traditional herbal medicines are explained, ceremonial places like shrines, ritual places are also experienced by the visitor. And of course not forgetting the magnificent Batwa cultural dance by the Batwa themselves who are the guides on this trail.
